Review: Unraveled

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Reading this book is like standing at a buffet table, full of bite-sized treats. Some are savory, some are sweet. Even if you're allergic to shellfish and you have to pass on the shrimp puffs, you still walk away satisfied. This book is a wonderful collection of bite-sized treats. Some are downright disturbing, disgusting, heart-breaking. Some are a pleasant way to pass the amount of time it would take to eat a mini cream puff.

My favorites include #1 Ritual, #7 Shaken Martinis, #13 Salvation, #14 Lynn's Best Day, #17 When Memory Lane Is Too Blurry for a Stroll, #18 In the Cards, #19 Control, #22 Law and Order and Dominion, #23 The Choice, and #24 Winter.

There is no room for error in a story as short as these. Each word does the work of a paragraph in a longer story, leaving no room for weak writing to hide. I am seriously impressed by this author's skill.
